Dry river bed

on
The front garden of our home has a slope down which excess water flows, causing erosion on the slope and a drainage problem.  We are planning to eliminate the problem by building a dry river bed. Hopefully this will improve drainage.
This is the front garden as it is now.  We plan to put the river bed at the edge of the grass.
We have dug up some of the bed.
This part hasn’t been dug up yet as there were too many bulbs.  I am waiting for them to finish flowering.
The black pipe is part of the watering system for the front garden.
The type of river bed we plan to have will be something like this one.

  1. I love your garden, how it meanders and looks “loose” instead of “prim and proper.” I hope that makes sense.
