Bancroft Bites

Last night we had dinner at Bancroft Bites in Metung.

Although we have been living in Metung for almost three years we have not had a meal in this restaurant.  My husband is a very good cook so we don’t eat out often but we will certainly be revisiting Bancroft Bites.  We had a delicious meal at a value for money price.  The service was very friendly and the menu selection excellent.

The restaurant is only small and I expected it to be noisy but because it is small people tend to keep their voices lower and so it was not noisy at all. The restaurant is fully licensed and there is a good selection of local wines.  I was able to have some of my favourite Sarsfield Estate wine with my meal.

For my meal I selected: Bancroft Bites platter- Pork spring rolls, Prawn wontons, Thai fish cakes, Natural oysters with a tomato & shallot salsa, Salt and peppered squid & Garlic prawn skewers.  followed this with a delicious fluffy Pavlova.

We contemplated having a Dessert Selection Plate to share but when we saw the large selection plate delivered to the adjoining table we decided it would be too much for just two of us.  Perhaps next time we will just go for entree and dessert!

If you are visiting Metung be sure to have a meal here.  I highly recommend it.
