Blooming garden

At this time of the year the garden is looking good as we have had plenty of rain.

Here is a sample of what is in bloom at the moment.

This is called the pincushion bush.

Clematis

Protea.

An old fashioned rose. “Charlotte”

Chinese lantern bush

Robinia tree

Don’t know what this is.

Dietes

Seaside daisy.  Erigeron karvinskianus

Rose obviously.

Iris

Irises

Some type of poppy – opium I think.

Jayne Austin rose. David Austin cultivar.

Another old fashioned rose, a David Austin cultivar.

Iris

Iris

Sage

Orchids

Solomon’s Seal.  Polygonatum x hybridum  This is actually photographed in the house as I had cut it for a vase.

My elder daughter gave me a book called Best flowers to grow and cut

It is a wonderful book that gives you samples of flowers to grow based on various themes. eg.

That should read elaborated shapes, I cut my screen shot, sorry.

It is a wonderful book that gives you ideas for what you want to plant in your garden if you are keen on flower arrangements.

  1. It’s so nice to see pictures of flowers. Of course, it’s summer for you while I’m experiencing the demise of the summer flowers. Thank you for the pictures.

  2. Wow, thank you for the beautiful photos. I really like the pincushion bush. This is the first time I have heard of it. What a great name 🙂
