Remains of the day

My latest book is The Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro.

The Remains of the Day is the story of an English butler in postwar England. He sets off on a journey to meet the former housekeeper who used to work with him at Darlington Hall and during the drive he reflects on his time there. The story is rather sad but is told with beautiful use of language.

A movie was made starring Anthony Hopkins and Emma Thompson.

Enjoyed this book also, very English indeed. The language was mesmerizing and beautifully written. Nice movie but always prefer my own.

Couldn’t agree with you more Megsy. Each person’s imagination is unique.
