Yesterday I went into the village to take a photo of the sign promoting our Carols in the Park.
It was a lovely day even though it was a bit windy and I thought I would take the opportunity to take a few more photographs.
This is taken from in front of the village green and you can see by the waves on the lake just how windy it was. I noticed the two swans at the lake’s edge and then realised that it was the family that waddles around on the village green from time to time.
It is incredible to see such a large brood of cygnets survive to this size. The cormorant that was close by was given short shrift by the cygnets when it got too close.
There are nine cygnets. The family has only lost two of their original enormous brood.
