What laundry?

You know I did a post about who does the laundry in your house, well in our house no one is doing laundry as our machine has gone on the blink!  We had a few visitors over the New Year and I think I had put five loads of washing through the machine and was onto my sixth when the machine gave up the ghost.  It will not drain the water.

We bought this machine only twelve months ago and we decided to go front loader rather than top loader as we wanted to use less water.  We bought a Fisher and Paykel WH 80F60W2

thinking that this would be a great buy, but I can honestly say I have not been happy with it.  Yes it uses less water, which is a good thing, but in order to get towels that don’t feel like cardboard after the wash, you need to alter the spin speed and hang them out with more water in them as an ordinary cycle spins them too dry and that’s what makes them feel like cardboard.

To add to the woes of a broken machine, there is no one at present who is available to fix the machine.  The machine is under warranty but the registered repairers are all on holiday at the moment and not available at least until 9th January.  I guess I will need to get used to hand washing for a while.

So do I. I’m glad I don’t live in the time when there were no washing machines.
