Before I start this post I would like to direct you to a wonderful blog that I follow at Lorna’s Tearoom Delights. After reading Lorna’s latest post on the different teas that she drinks I was prompted to do this post.
At the Metung Markets recently I purchased some tea. I purchased it not because of how it tasted, although that did have some bearing on it, but because of the packaging. I like to see things packaged nicely.
A young couple have set up business in ’boutique teas’ and they are very enthusiastic. The stall at the market had the facility for you to taste the different teas before buying. I like to think I am supporting local initiatives by purchasing local goods. Humble Chai is the name of the company.
They sell various blends of teas, many of which can be drunk as iced tea. I bought some of this Turkish Apple which is delicious.
You can see from the contents that it is mainly apple with a few spices and just a little tea.
The couple have a website at Humblechai.com . . . .the Home of Gippsland ‘designer made’ teas. Take a look at their website to get some idea of the teas available. I love the design of their website too.

I can see why you yielded to that temptation! I had a look at their (as you say, nicely designed) website and am very tempted by the Masala chai. If I’d been at the Metung market I’m quite sure I would have returned home with some of their teas. Thank you for the mention too, very kind.
You wouldn’t happen to know anywhere in Traralgon where they sell their tea? Rather than me paying postage….since it won’t be travelling out of the town…..I haven’t seen it at the market, but I’ll keep my eyes out…..
I saw them at the Traralgon market. I’m not sure when it happens but it is once a month. They also come to the Metung market.

Shame as I ordered quita a few tins & would have bought more…
Unfortunately that is one of the downfalls of having a blog. Once the time passes many of the links no longer operate. It is a shame the Traralgon Tea no longer has a website.
Was/is Taralgon Tea,the same as Humble Chai..??
Wondering if I can still get the Chai … but from Taralgon Tea…!!
Sorry Rob I have no idea. I tried searching online but it would appear they are no longer in existence. They did have a presence on Twitter but last tweet was in 2014 which would seem to indicate they are no longer operating. Such a shame.
