This little jacket/coat was a very quick project that has used up some wool I had in my stash. I had bought the wool for the Owl Jumper I knitted for my daughter but when I did the tension swatch I discovered it was nowhere near the correct tension so went for different wool. The wool had remained in my stash since then but I found a pattern that I liked and thought I would use this wool to make it up.
The pattern is Little Buds by Karen Borrel and you can find it on Ravelry.
It was very easy to knit as you knit from the neck down and it is all in one piece so there are no seams to sew up at the end of your knitting. I like the little leaves which give the jacket a bit of a kick out at the waist. The sleeves are 3/4 length.
I just have to get some buttons. Even though I have a large collection of buttons there never seems to be buttons suitable for the most recent project.
No seams to sew up – that sound’s like might sort of pattern!
It really was a delight to knit. Not difficult at all.
That is so cute. It looks nice and warm too.
So sweet, you must have the best dressed grandchildren in Australia!
