One of the delights of blogging is correspondence with fellow bloggers. I have been following a blog called “ Serendipities of Life” posted by Frank Burns. Frank, like myself, is a retired teacher. At the moment he is travelling in Australia, making his way from Sydney to Melbourne by bicycle. He has just completed a trip in New Zealand, travelling from the most northerly point to the most southerly point. Quite some trek. His reason for doing this was to raise money for children in Syria.
His trip in New Zealand he referred to as the main course with his trip in Australia being the dessert. When I was reading his blog and discovered that he would be visiting Australia, travelling to Melbourne from Sydney via the Princes Highway, I thought it would be a nice idea to offer some hospitality as he is travelling very light. (You will need to read his blog to discover the lengths he has gone to in order to travel as light as possible.) He has a small tent and I thought it would be nice if he could have a night in a proper bed and access to facilities, plus of course, our delightful company.:-)
At the moment he is in Bermagui so he should be visiting us very soon.
Thanks for those kind words, Heather. It’s great when a blogging friendship bridges the gap into the real world. See you both soon.
Frank
You seem to be making excellent progress on your trip.
That’s exciting, and very kind of you. I hope you have a wonderful time when he visits.
We are certainly looking forward to meeting Frank.
