Commonwealth Games, Glasgow 2014 what has that to do with Irn-Bru? It’s the official drink.

One of the blogs I follow is Journeys to Scotland.  This video was posted recently and I thought I would share it as Irn-Bru is the iconic drink of Scotland, other than whisky that is.  Personally I don’t like Irn-Bru but there are obviously a great number of people who do, particularly in Scotland.

  1. IrnBru is irresistible to many indigenous Scots, myself included, although maybe only to be consumed once or twice a year – not the healthiest beverage, although no. 1 hangover cure 🙂 Can’t think why it is the drink of the Games though. Healthy lifestyle and Irn Bru don’t exactly go hand in hand!

  2. I very rarely drink it, but I do like it. When I went on a school trip once where we were staying overnight away from home, my mum asked me what I’d like to have for a midnight feast and I chose a bottle of Irn Bru and a packet of marshmallows. Not exactly a healthy option, but those two flavours together hold happy memories. I’ll be toasting the Commonwealth Games with a can, for old times’ sake.
