The joys of having grandchildren

As parents we have been blessed as our children have provided us with much joy over the years of their growing up.  We are now at the stage where grandchildren take on that role, not that we don’t still get joy from our children. 🙂

I have been quiet on the blogging front recently as we had a trip to Sydney for my younger sister’s 60th birthday and then a trip to Melbourne to stay with our elder daughter while her husband was away on the Great Australian Road Trip which was raising money for the Ilhan Food Allergy Foundation.  We helped our daughter with some work in the garden, removing palm trees and fishbone fern which had taken over the garden beds,

and we enjoyed spending some time with our daughter and two of our grandchildren.

Two weeks previously they had been at our place for a few days during the school holidays and it was then that we went for a walk down to the lake.

Miss MOur two year old granddaughter insisted on carrying the backpack even though it was almost as big as she was.

It was lovely to be able to spend time with them again, this time at their home.

We are now back at home so blogging should resume as normal.
