Little Red Riding Hood….a cape

on

Apologies as this is not a very clear photo but it is the only one I have.

red capeRecently I made this cape for my granddaughter. My daughter had bought the fabric, which is a beautiful woven wool and a small floral print for the lining. I offered to make the cape for her as I knew she would be busy, having just returned to full time employment.

Burda pattern

The pattern was a little more complicated than the pinafores and it required a bit of handsewing but the end result was delightful.

  1. I used to have a little red riding hood doll with a red cape. When you turned it upside down underneath the cape it was her grandmother, whose face you could pull off and make it into a wolf. It sounds a bit gruesome but I thought it was marvellous. I would have loved to have a little red cape like this to be like my doll. It’s wonderful!
