A veritable feast of sport tonight

on

Google todayThis is what greeted me on the Google page today.  The Tour de France starts in Corsica tonight and will be broadcast live on SBS television.  I have, as in previous years, downloaded the SBS Tour Tracker on my phone and my ipad so I can access the latest statistics etc.  You will need to click on the picture to be able to read it clearly.

SBS tour tracker

I bought the Official Tour Guide about two weeks ago so have read up on all the necessary information and last night I watched the Tour of Legends on SBS which gave the history of the tour.

There will be eleven Australian in the tour this year with Stuart O’Grady participating in his 17th tour, which will equal the record of George Hincapie.  I have a particular interest in Mick Roger who will be riding for Alberto Contador on the Saxo-Tinkoff team.  Michael was one of my students when I taught in high school and cycling was his passion then as it is now.

Before the Tour de France starts tonight I will be watching the Wallabies v The British and Irish Lions in the second test match.

2nd test

It is a must win match for the Wallabies to keep the series alive.  The first test match was a close encounter and a terrific game so I am hoping for an equally enthralling game tonight.

Now I must go and do some baking so I have some sustenance during my marathon television watching. 🙂

Oh! I forgot to mention there is also Wimbledon and the tennis!

  1. It’s all about the tennis over here and a certain Mr Murray….I’m glad you’re doing a batch of baking to get you through all this sport – it’s exhausting work watching people slog their guts out.

I would so like Andy Murray to win. Leyton Hewitt was my favourite but he is gone. We still have Samantha Stosur in the women’s.

Indeed lots of late night/early morning viewing. Not the best preparation for moving day!!!

I am watching the start of the rugby but keeping an eye on the start of the Tour by video on line. Multitasking!
