Tuesday travels. . . . .Glen Garioch Distillery

One of the first places we visited while staying in Aberdeenshire was the Glen Garioch Distillery. (you need to be over the legal drinking age in order to access the website)

You can’t visit Scotland without a visit to a distillery, or indeed several, as Iain Banks noted so admirably in his book Raw Spirit.

At this stage of our travels our son and younger daughter had arrived to join us for a few days and so they accompanied us on our visit to the distillery.

I am not a whisky drinker but I enjoyed finding out about the production of this well known Scottish drink. This is the kiln where the barley used to be malted.

  1. Interesting that you enjoyed it despite not being a whisky drinker. I’ve been to a couple of distilleries and always enjoy the wee taster at the end.
