A morning in Metung

It is the last week of daylight saving here in Victoria so we will only have dark mornings for a few more days.

This was taken with my phone this morning at about 6.30.  When we set off on our walk at 6 o’clock it is really quite dark.  On part of our walk there is a fairly steep descent on a gravel path and there is no lighting so we need to go very carefully.  It used to slow us up as we went down that section of our walk but my husband found a gadget that makes it easier for us.

gadgetThis strange looking thing is a neck torch.

neck torchMy husband has a head torch but it is not really ideal for walking because if you turn your head to the side the area in front of you is not lit up.  This neck torch is just the thing for our early morning walk.  When there are no street lights we can still see where we are going.

    • About 18 degrees that morning. The past week the temperature has ranged between 15 and 21 when we set out. Usually a short sleeved walk although that should be changing soon. We have had the occasional morning where we have had to have long sleeves.
