When our children were little we did marbling with them as I had done marbling with children in my classes when I was a teacher. It is a lovely activity to do as it requires very little skill. 🙂 It produces some beautiful results. In the olden days marbing papers used to be used as the end papers inside books and you may still find marbling used in present day editions.
This example is inside a bible.
I still had the marbling inks from when my children were little so I got them out for our grandson while he was here.
We had great fun producing many sheets of marbled paper which he will be able to use in future craft projects.
He did make two notebooks for his mum and dad. He used the sewing machine to stitch several sheets of paper together inside a marbled cover.
We discovered after we had finished that we hadn’t followed the instructions but we were happy with the result doing it the way we had done it. Not quite the standard of the published endpapers but beautiful nonetheless.
I’ve never tried this but I’ve seen it inside books. What a lovely result you got.
I had forgotten how easy it was to do. Lots of fun.
I marbled eggs once for Easter. That was fun!
I haven’t tried that but I will need to give it a go next Easter, now that I have brought the marbling inks out of the cupboard!
