A new Reading Challenge for 2015

on

This year I have decided to give myself a reading challenge not based on someone else’s idea but one specifically for myself.  The challenge doesn’t link to another website or blog it only links to my pages  Reading Challenges at the top of my blog.

The challenge I have set myself this year, after my successful historical fiction challenge last year, is to read at least 26 of the books on my shelves that I haven’t read yet.  These books are known as TBR books – To Be Read books.  I have many books that I have bought either new or second hand that for some reason or other I haven’t go around to reading.  I also have books that my husband has read and I haven’t so I can call on those too, not to mention books that may have been given to me by family or friends after they have finished reading them.  I know there are plenty to choose from.

The first book I am reading at the moment is The Name of the Rose, previously read by my husband.nameofrose

I also want to read more non-fiction this year so have given myself the challenge of reading 12 non-fiction books.

That should keep me busy for the year.  I will try not to buy new books and only borrow books from the library if I specifically want to read something other than those on my bookshelves.

Great challenge to have, Heather. We all have books that remain unread……largely because many of us continue chasing what is the latest ‘hot read’, or grappling with the latest winner of a literary prize.
