before joiningThose of you who follow my blog will be well aware that I have managed to get a considerable amount of knitting done recently as there has been an abundance of cricket on the television.

The first garment finished was one I blogged about in December. The garment is knitted in one piece and then joined on the shoulders.

back of jacketI used some wool that I had in my stash so was delighted with the end product.  The Zimmermann pattern is so easy to follow and the fact that there is only the shoulder seam as a join makes it a pleasure to finish.

That design really is clever. I am not surprised it is from Elizabeth Zimmerman. I like the yarn you used.

Thank you. The yarn was some I had kept for a few years waiting for a project that suited it.

  3. That’s an amazing bit of knitting, I like the patterning created by the wool.

I was lucky that the wool ideally suited the pattern.
