Library lovers’ day

I am fortunate in that I belong to the Bairnsdale Library, the library I use frequently although I also use the library at Lakes Entrance and I have used the mobile library that visits Metung.

Yesterday was Valentines’ Day and the library was celebrating with a lovely display.

library valentines displayThe idea was to have a blind date with a book.

blind date with a bookYou just picked up a bag from the table and checked it out with your other books. The bag was sealed so you couldn’t peek.  The books were all new books and the idea was that you might read a book that you otherwise wouldn’t have selected from the shelves.

There was a form to complete when you had finished the book. . . . Rate your date.

I love my library and make full use of it.  Do you frequent your local library?

  1. What a fab idea! We have a tiny library in our village and we go every couple of weeks so the children can pick 2 books each. They don’t have any events there yet but it’s a lovely walk to get there.
