Local food and wine

on

We have been meaning to attend the Tinamba Food and Wine Festival for a couple of years now but this year we finally got there and we are so glad we did.  It was a fantastic day.  The festival is held on the road in front of the Tinamba Hotel.  The road is closed and traffic is diverted for the duration of the festival.

We left home in time to arrive at the festival at 11.00 which was the starting time and it meant we were there before the rush.

That is the music stage on the back of the truck.

It became really crowded later in the day and the queues were longer if you wanted to buy food or drink.  We left about two o’clock and the place was really jumping by then.

There were plenty of opportunities to sample local produce and the quality was excellent.

My favourite of the day was this delicious smashed pavlova.  It had custard and cream in it and was not too sweet.

There was music to accompany your feasting and the weather was great.  Not too hot and the rain stayed away.  I recommend a visit to the festival next year if you are in East Gippsland.

Ooh yum, that smashed pav sounds divine. I have many happy memories of the Tinamba pub from when I few up in Sale. Is it still there?

Yes the owners of the pub I think were the initiators of the Food and Wine Festival. The pub is very popular and the meals are to die for.
