Some sensible street planting

After I came out of the gym this morning I noticed that the garden beds in the main street were looking particularly good.  We have beautiful central plantings in the main street of Bairnsdale and it is a credit to the council workers employed to look after the gardens.

Often there are beds with colourful flowers but those beds are interspersed with vegetable beds.  Last year there were some lovely colourful cabbages in a display along with parsley and silverbeet.

This year this is one of the beds.

Here is a closer view.

Citizens are able to make use of the produce when it is harvested as they can collect it from the shire offices.  A great initiative.
