It is now two months since I fell and broke my humerus. I can’t believe it is taking so long for things to get back to normal. There are still many things that I can’t do but starting on the 1st July I got back to attempting to get my 7 k daily walk happening. It is nowhere near as fast as I was walking previously but it is a start. It is just good to be able to get out in the beautiful Metung surroundings.I have also been doing a bit of work on my husband’s stationary bike. I can’t lean forward and grab the handlebars yet but I can do the pedaling and keep my legs going.
The main issue is the range of movement of my arm. I still am unable to lift my arm up to 90 degrees so I am assuming it will take a while to get to 180 degrees.
Things are slowly improving but I have to be patient and I am not very good at that.
Slow and steady. Take care of yourself.
There seems to be more progress this week. Perhaps things will move a little faster now.
It’s very difficult to be patient when you’re recovering from an injury. You expect the first few days or even weeks to be hard, but when it goes on for longer it can be really frustrating. It sounds as if you’re doing very well though, even if it feels like slow progress to you. Keep at it and you will get there. Lovely photo of the water.
Thanks Lorna for your reassuring words.
