Our journey began at Melbourne airport. Our first stop was Dubai after a very long flight.
It was only a short stop in Dubai before then heading on our next flight to Glasgow. We have decided that it is best to avoid Heathrow if traveling to the UK. We were glad we had chosen Glasgow as it was so easy to get in and out of the airport. We had planned a night’s stay at the hotel next to the airport as it was within walking distance and we were able to check out where we were going to pick up our hire car the next morning.
We had an apartment booked for five nights in Dullatur which was only a short way from Glasgow and our host was there to meet us when we arrived. The apartment was fantastic and we enjoyed our stay there. It was the ideal base to do exploring of Glasgow and the area around Stirling. We drove from the apartment to Croy and caught the train to Glasgow. Park and ride is such a great way to get into the major cities in the UK. and once in the city we made use of our two day ticket for the Hop On Hop Off bus.
When we were in Glasgow I enjoyed some of the very clever signs on shops etc.
and this one for a fast food outlet.
More about our time in Glasgow on my next post.
Enjoy. Looks great. We have a local fruit and veg shop that’s called Lettuce Inn.
Wise move, avoiding Heathrow. The apartment looks lovely.
