Sport,sport and still more sport

I have been in seventh heaven this winter watching all the sport that was available for viewing from the northern hemisphere’s summer and now I get the opportunity to watch even more from the southern hemisphere’s Spring and Summer.

The Rugby World Cup has just commenced in Japan and I will be glued to the television for the next few weeks while that is happening.  On Saturday we had what was called Sumo Saturday here in Australia where we were treated to three wonderful games of rugby. On Sunday we had another three games.  I was happy although it was a shame that Scotland were beaten by Ireland it was good to see that Tonga were able to put up a good contest against England.

I missed the opening ceremony of the Rugby World Cup but was able to catch up with it later.  It was a beautifully choreographed opening.

Do you have a team that you would like to see winning the cup?  I have a few teams I would like to see win.  Obviously Australia is my first choice, followed by Scotland, France and Japan.  Those countries all have links to my family.

  2. I have to agree with you the opening ceremony was wonderful.
Unfortunately being Irish I was delighted we won..(sorry Scotland).
What I love to see in these competitions are the “emerging” rugby nations. There was a great game between Italy and Namibia.
