The Gang-gang.
The gang gang is a bird and the name Gang–gang comes from a New South Wales Aboriginal language, either Ngunnawal or Wiradjuri. It is possible both language groups called it that.
We have not seen gang-gangs in our garden previously and were delighted when a flock appeared in the garden.
It was only a small flock of about 6-8 birds but we were lucky to have a couple of them settle on our water feature for a drink.
We think that the reason we have seen them here for the first time might be lack of food source as a result of the bushfires.
They are beautiful. Maybe they will stay around for a while.
Hopefully they will. We saw them the following day and my husband was able to take much better photographs with his camera.
