Pinnies, aprons, smocks or pinafores (Some added information)

(This is the 2013 post with the new information added.)

I mentioned in a previous post that I thought I was going to do some sewing, well I did.

apron 1I have made three “retro” aprons. I thoroughly enjoyed making them, I even made the bias tape to go around two of the aprons.

apron 3Do you use an apron when you are cooking? I find I am constantly wiping my hands on my pinny when I am working.

Since I published this post in August 2013 I have had a request for the pattern I used for the pinnies.  I still had the patterns in my pattern box so was able to take a photo to show the patterns used.

It is probably about time I made a new pinny for me.

Absolutely love your pinnies, feel somewhat inspired now – you always knew if a pinny went on there was some serious food-making to done, they remind me of my mum bottling her tomatoes and making tomato sauce or jam making…

Thank you. I agree that it does signal serious food-making. I am about to make some more peach and vanilla jam so the pinny will be on.

  2. Love the wrap around.

  3. Wow. Great sewing and handmade bias too.

Thank you. The bias gadget is a godsend.
