Trying to improve the front grass

The paths around the garden beds in our front garden were in desperate need of repair.  We have an issue with moss growing in the shaded part of the garden and we wanted to see if we could get some grass to grow to replace the moss.

I scratched around in the bare patches of the path to disturb the soil in readiness for sowing seed and we made sure that the soil was damp before spreading the seed.  My husband is in charge of keeping the soil damp to make sure that the seeds don’t dry out.

We haven’t got any sign of green shoots yet but it is early days.  Hopefully our seed sowing is successful.

Addendum:  The green shoots are up. Yipee!
