This was our first stop on our way to a two day Tour de Vines cycle ride from Beechworth to Bright.
A group of five of us travelled from Metung, over Mount Hotham to Bright,
stopping at Omeo so I could tick off one of my wishes, to have lunch at the Golden Age Hotel.
We arrived in Bright, parked our cars and were met by Darren who loaded all our bikes on the trailer and drove us to our accommodation in Beechworth.
Our tour was organised by Tour de Vines Gourmet Cycling Tours and you can find out all about the tours they offer if you click on the link.
Our accommodation at each of our three stops was of high quality.
The food was also of an excellent standard and the first night we had dinner at The Ox and Hound.
One of our entrees.
Beechworth is a place full of interesting things to see and do but we were only there for the night so we basically ate and drank…..
We visited the Bridge Road Brewery and made sure we sampled an ale before dinner at the Ox and Hound.
The following morning we started our cycling as our destination for the day was Myrtleford.
More about that in the next blog post.
