Not since November 26th 2021!

Well, that is how long it has been since I have done a post on the blog.  I received a phone call today from my brother and sister-in-law just to make sure that I was still on the planet as I hadn’t posted for a while even though we have been in touch through Zoom calls.

I will rectify that now and do a post today.

I haven’t been blogging because with Christmas and New Year and the ongoing saga that is COVID other things seem to have taken priority.  My main excuse is there has been too much cricket happening.external-content.duckduckgo.com

We had the visiting English test team out here so I had to watch all those matches. That was followed by the BBL so more cricket had to be watched and then we had the English women’s team here so that has to be watched too.  I have even watched a little bit of tennis although not as much as I used to.

Because of all this cricket very little of anything else has been done.  I have only read a couple of books recently and one in particular that fits the cricket theme is this one. . . . .

Unknown

My grandson had this book and I started to read it at Christmas time and found it fascinating.  I tried to get a copy at our local bookshop but no luck and then when I went to Melbourne I tried to get a copy there but again no luck.  I ordered it online and it arrived a couple of days ago.

If you are at all interested in T20 cricket this is a must read.

“Cricket 2.0 is the multi award-winning story of how an old traditional game was revolutionised by a new format : Twenty20 cricket.

Using exclusive interviews with over 80 leading players and coaches – including Josh Buttler, Ricky Ponting, Kieran Pollard, Eoin Morgan, Brendon McCullum and Rashid Khan, Tim Wigmore and Freddie Wilde chronicle the revolution with insight, forensic analysis and story-telling verve.  In the process, they reveal how cricket has been transformed, both on and off the field.

Readers will never watch a T20 game in quite the same way again. “

And there are pictures. 😉
