On my walk this morning in Metung the lake was looking beautiful.
I was doing a different route this morning as I was heading out along the boardwalk and down to the boat ramp at Shaving Point.
This is Legend Rock which I have talked about in a previous post.
It was indeed a lovely morning.
There were many swans on the lake with this one being quite close to the boardwalk.
Unfortunately this idyllic scene is not as it should be as we have been troubled with the issue of Blue green algae.
The algae is a problem when we have excess rain which causes the nutrients from farm run off etc to end up in the lake and this is one of the reasons for the algae. It means that no shellfish or fish caught in the lake can be consumed. People and animals are encouraged not to swim in the lake as it can cause allergies.
Hopefully it won’t be too long before the algae disperses.
