Marinated feta

Way back in 2015 I posted about a cheese making kit my son had given to me for my birthday.  It has been a while since I last made cheese but with the holiday season coming up I thought it would be a good time to make some as a practice in readiness for Christmas.  I just needed to buy some new rennet tablets as mine were out of date.

I had some difficulty with finding the correct weighted press for on top of the curds but apart from that all went well.

It makes a large amount of cheese.

This is a litre jar.

I also found out that if you use dried herbs the cheese will last for longer.  Fresh herbs mean you can only store the cheese for about four days whereas dried will last for two weeks.
