We will not be in Shetland for wool week but . . . .

We will not be in Shetland for Shetland Wool Week but I am knitting the Wool Week Beanie.  You can find the free pattern at www.shetlandwoolweek.com The beanie is called Merrie Dancers Toorie.

I have knitted this one on a circular needle using leftover 4ply wool from other projects.  The colours are not the same as the one on the illustration but I am happy with the left over wool I have used.  The green I used is very pale and shows very similar to the white I used but it is still ok.

Obviously the hat is still on the needles so it has yet to be finished and blocked.

Another project from the frogged wool

cowlThis is a reversible cowl made from some of the same frogged wool used for the tam I posted yesterday.  The cowl was very easy to make and you can find the pattern at Universal.

The pattern is a free pattern.  While you are at their website you may find other free patterns that you might like.

Cricket and craft. . . .summer is here

The first series of One Day Internationals in the cricket has just finished and we are about to embark on a Test Series with Pakistan.  I love when the cricket is on as I can justify sitting down to watch it by doing some knitting, sewing or crocheting.

While the ODIs were on I managed to complete a few items.  This cardigan is the first item.

cardiganI have knitted this pattern before. The pattern is free and you can read about the first version here.

This one I knitted in 2012.  I didn’t end up using the bow just leaving the cardigan without fastening.

Tour de France jumper finished, another project needed for the remainder of the Tour.

I obviously chose a project that was not of an appropriate length for the Tour de France as I have completed it and we are only up to Stage 14 when I write this post.

The TourThe jumper was a joy to knit.  I had forgotten how much I enjoy colour work when knitting.

I have now started a small project for the time being.

close upIt wont take long to knit as it is thick wool and big needles, in fact I will probably finish it on the next stage.

This is what I am making.

I have a Pinterest board for woolwork, aka knitting

A Tour de France jumper

neck down jumper

This jumper was completed in the last three days of the Tour de France. The pattern was a joy to work and I would certainly knit it again. You work the jumper from the neck down rather than the usual waist up.
