Yesterday I had a day where I achieved very little although I had set out to achieve much more.
Perhaps this next photo would give you a clue as to what my issue was.
I had set out to do some stretch fabric sewing and the overlocker is a vital piece of equipment when doing so. All started out well but then the machine started to make a dreadful noise and I discovered that one of the needles had worked loose and come out of its position. Obviously this was not good and the needle ended up bent so it had to be replaced. Not an easy task when you have big fingers. I should say that I also had to rethread the machine before I started as it was white thread I needed, not black and that job usually entails some stuff ups.
Back to the bent needle. I replaced the needle after much faffing about and was on my merry way. Oh no I wasn’t. The machine kept skipping stitches. I tried all sorts of solutions but none worked. In the end I thought the problem must be the needle I had replaced so it involved a trip to Stitches ‘n Things in Lakes Entrance to buy some new overlocker needles. Silly me had used a sewing machine needle. I didn’t realise you needed a specific overlocker needle. They look exactly the same.
Problem solved, again after a bit of difficulty getting the new needle in.
All in all I probably sewed four seams for my day’s work hence the inclusion of this word of the day.
Just love that word Spuddle. It accurately describes me!!
It made me laugh as It describes me on many occasions too.
Spuddle accurately describes many mornings
Mine too Gary.
